SigLoch from Bindwel welcomes the print community to its digital post-press open house at the Trivandrum factory, running from 12 to 14 October 2026. Digital bureaus, commercial printers and book producers are all invited to see the machines at work, ask questions of the people who build them, and try their own jobs.
On the floor are the SigLoch ZEN perfect binder, the SigLoch XE-CUT flatbed cutting series (XE-CUT, XE-CUT Pro and XE-CUT Pro Xtend), and two Bindwel’s post-press machines for higher volumes, the BW@2500 EPIC perfect binder and the Trimit 30C three-knife trimmer.
The invoice is not the whole cost
The Digital post-press open house starts with a question few bureaus price properly: what does outsourced finishing really cost? The vendor’s invoice is one line. Behind it sit delivery trips across the city, sheets damaged in finishing and setup that must be reprinted, staff hours spent on follow-ups and approvals, and turnaround delays that cost urgent jobs. In short-run digital post-press work, where jobs are on demand and deadlines are measured in hours, these hidden costs add up fast.
SigLoch ZEN: offset-quality binding for digital post-press short runs
Binding is where the print volume is. Ten 200-page books use about 500 A3 sheets, while a thousand visiting cards use 42. Yet many digital bureaus still send their book work outside, handing the highest-volume jobs to someone else.
SigLoch ZEN is a single-clamp perfect binder built for runs of 1, 10, 100 or 1,000. It combines spine roughening with notching and a dust extractor, three-roller gluing with automatic thickness setting, driven side gluing, and cover nipping with duration control. The aim is the strength and finish of an offset-bound book, on a digital run.
It is also designed to be run by the team a bureau already has. The book clamp sets itself, glue settings adjust to book thickness, and job changeover is simple. It does not need a skilled bindery operator. ZEN runs on single-phase 230V, handles spines from 1 to 50 mm at 150 cycles an hour, and measures 1,550 × 650 mm, so it fits a digital post-press floor.
SigLoch XE-CUT series: three cutters, matched to the work you do
All three machines cut without dies. They have auto-feeding, speeds up to 1,200 mm/s, operate dongle free in an open software and have single-phase power requirements.
- SigLoch XE-CUT suits paper-and-card bureaus. Stickers, visiting cards, wedding and invitation cards, tags, danglers and envelopes, on stock up to 600 gsm, using full cut, kiss cut and creasing.
- SigLoch XE-CUT Pro suits bureaus doing event, packaging-sample and signage work. An oscillating knife and V-groove tool take it to substrates up to 6 mm: kappa board, sunboard, foam board, corrugated, PVC. Think rigid boxes, photo frames and hardbook cover cases.
- SigLoch XE-CUT Xtend suits bureaus that also serve offset packaging sampling, signage or agency mock-ups. It keeps a 600 × 400 footprint, but an extended table and two-step workflow let it finish sheets up to 900 × 600 mm. Cuts up to B2 boards.
For higher volumes: BW@2500 EPIC and Trimit 30C
For printers whose binding runs beyond short-run digital, the open house also features the BW@2500 EPIC, a six-clamp perfect binder rated at 2,500 books an hour and built for magazines, textbooks and catalogues. Alongside it is the Trimit 30C, a three-knife trimmer for printed books, exercise notebooks, answer books and stationery.
Bring your own samples to digital post-press open house
Visitors are encouraged to bring their own files and substrates. The team will run them on the machines so you can judge the finish yourself.
The digital flatbed cutters accept PLT, DXF, DST, DSB, PDF, CUT, NC, PTS and Vcut files.
Good test jobs: a book block with cover, a sticker sheet, a box die-line on kappa board.
[Kishore Kumar K, CEO, SigLoch]: “Every bureau’s job mix is different. We built this range so one visit can show you which machine fits yours, on your own sheets.A machine’s brochure tells you what it can do. A sample on your own stock tells you whether it will work for you. That is why we ask every visitor to bring a job.”
